Latest GAO Report Highlights Need for Common Sense Reform of Federal Bureaucracy
Washington, D.C.– House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement regarding a report issued by the Government Accountability Office on duplicative federal programs.
“The latest report from the GAO highlights what happens when Washington expands without common sense oversight to weed out duplication and redundancies,” said Chairman Price. “The status quo proves yet again to be expansive, expensive, and ineffective. Regardless of these facts, some continue to laud spending and budget plans that do nothing to reverse this irresponsible course. Government waste and inefficiencies will continue to cost Americans jobs and impose barriers to economic recovery and growth until Senate Democrats and the Obama Administration take seriously the proposals put forth by House Republicans to get the federal bureaucracy under control and our fiscal house in order.”
